The annual migration of thousands of American toads has begun in the Ruxton area… This means that countless of these environmentally friendly critters are crossing Bellona Avenue each evening when temperatures are at or above 58 degrees – they’re trying to make their way to Lake Roland and must cross one of the darkest bends on Bellona just to get there. Please try to avoid Bellona as you pass Rolandvue and head southeast towards Charles Street. Kindly consider using Malvern or Boyce as detours. More information about this annual migration (and volunteer opportunities) will be available in the spring editor of Neighborhood NEWS. Help save the toads!
